HOMETOWN hero, Martin Gethin will be with us for Saturday's home game against Oldham Athletic.The Saddlers' fanatic recently became British Lightweight Champion and in doing so did Walsall FC and the whole town proud as he stopped his opponent, Ben Murphy, in the ninth round to claim the title.
We have backed Martin since his Midlands Area days, so to see him become a British Champion is a real achievement. He will be in the Stadium Suite before the game to talk about his triumph and also on the pitch at half-time.
