Full-back in positive mood...

FULL-back, Andy Taylor, has reflected upon our 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Port Vale.

“We’re disappointed to have lost at home, but we felt that we controlled a lot of the possession without creating too many clear-cut chances,” he said. “Apart from their two goals, I don’t remember them creating many other opportunities.

“We weren’t a million miles away from it being a good performance, it was just that final ball or final shot that was not quite there.

“Looking back, we created some decent situations and there were positives that we will take from the game such as the way in which we are limiting the opposition to very few chances.

“We know that we have to do a bit of work on being able to break teams down, but we have looked back through the game and pinpointed the areas that need extra attention.

“The key is to learn from it and ensure that we don’t keep making the same mistakes.

“We’re not going to get too disheartened; with the games coming thick and fast, we can’t afford to let this happen and we know that we have to be ready to go again at the weekend where we face another big game.

“As a team we go into every game knowing that if we perform, we will give ourselves every chance of being successful.

“We’ve seen what the top sides have to offer and as players, we fear no-one at this level.

“You can be sure that we will roll our sleeves up and be ready to go again at Leyton Orient in the FA Cup on Saturday."
