SKIPPER EYES CUP PROGRESS

5 December 2013

Butler leading by example...

SKIPPER, Andy Butler, knows that The Saddlers will have to work hard to earn our place in the third round of the FA Cup as we face a second round trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday.

"It's a difficult draw and we know that we are really going to have to earn our place in the next round," he said. "We went there earlier in the season and became the first team to take points off them, playing for 70 minutes with ten men, so it will be interesting to see what we can do with 11 men.

"They are a League One team, so we know what they are about. As I say, we did really well at their place; the lads stuck at it and could have even come away with a win in the end.

"It will be good to test ourselves against a team who are flying high and doing well. They have plenty of attacking threats, but we'll approach the game in the right way, as we always do, and hopefully get our reward.

"I have some good memories of the FA Cup. It's nice for players at this level to have the experience of coming up against teams from higher levels and also it can earn vital extra revenue for the club.

"To progress would give us a real boost, so hopefully we will find ourselves in Sunday's draw."
