Loanee on his winning strike...
MILAN Lalkovic weighed in with his third goal of the season to secure three points at a windy Shrewsbury.
“It was difficult conditions out there,” said the Chelsea loanee. “We were compact and organised and their ‘keeper had to make a number of saves.
“I was happy to get on the scoresheet; I managed to get in behind the defence and stayed calm to finish. It was nice to see the ball hit the back of the net.
“I felt my hamstring a little shortly after that and had to go off, but it will be fine and I can’t wait for the next game.
“There are plenty of matches coming up in a short space of time and it’s about keeping this going now. Hopefully I can get some more goals and help the team.”
The 21 year-old’s initial loan deal runs until January, but he is keen to extend his stay.
“I really enjoy it here,” he added without hesitation. “It’s a great environment for me to learn and develop and playing regular first-team football in what is a good level can only help me.
“For any young player, this experience is really beneficial. The League is tough but I am enjoying the challenge.
“The style of play really suits me and I generally feel good in myself and settled. I would like to stay beyond January and help this team continue to push for the play-offs.”
