Smith on Boxing Day set-back...
SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 1-0 defeat at Bristol City.
“We were below average,” he admitted. “We just didn’t perform and in the end it was the right result.
“We gave it a go at the start of the second half, but there was no tempo about us and they were the better side at the end of the day.
“It’s frustrating; we were nowhere near the standards that we are capable of, but credit to Bristol City as they did their job and got the points.
“The good thing is that we have a game coming up so soon afterwards. We’ll have a chat and look to bounce back in the right way at Gillingham on Sunday.
“I have every faith in my players to be able to do that against what will be robust and well-organised opposition.”
