SAWYERS SHOWS PATIENCE

9 August 2013

Summer signing making an impact off the bench...

SUMMER signing, Romaine Sawyers, has done well coming off the substitutes' bench in our opening two games of the season, but the former West Bromwich Albion youngster is prepared to bide his time as he looks to secure a starting place.

"We're only two games in, but I can be patient," said the summer signing. "Hopefully if I keep performing when I get my chance and doing well well in training, I will naturally get a starting place.

"My aim is to go out and make as much impact as I can in the time I have on the field, be that five minutes, ten minutes or 90 minutes.

"It's been a great start to the season so far. We had to fight a bit more at Port Vale than we did against Tranmere, but we came through the test and deserved the win.

"On our day we can beat anyone at this level providing we all do our jobs. We had a tight group of players here that can really kick on and build on where we left off last season.

"We go to Oldham with plenty of belief and confidence. It's a game that we are looking forward to."
