THE WALSALL FC Academy took part in the Keele International Cup recently.The competition was entered by clubs from around the world and gave our boys the opportunity to experience playing against different styles and systems whilst also testing themselves against clubs from this country in Category 1 of the EPPP.
"All of our boys did extremely well," said Head of Academy Coaching, Graham Biggs. "Special mention to the Under-13s who lost on penalties in their Final and the Under-14s and 15s who won their Cup.
"Everyone involved conducted themselves impeccably on and off-the-pitch. I would like to express a personal thanks to the players for their efforts they gave over the week, they conducted themselves in a very professional manner.
"A special thanks too to the coaches who gave up their time to spend long days with their teams, supporting them through the ups and downs of tournament football.
"Of course all of this would not be possible without the club agreeing to let us enter the tournament and for the parents being so supportive, as they always are.
"It was a fantastic experience for all our teams, from under-9s to 16s."
