Talented youngster thrilled with new deal...

JAMES Baxendale penned a new three-year deal with The Saddlers this week and is looking forward to continuing his development as a player at Banks's Stadium.

"I thoroughly enjoy it here," said the former Doncaster Rovers man. "I feel that I have built some good foundations and I am looking forward to kicking on.

"There is a talented group of players here and the familiar look that we have this season can only breed good things.

"The way that the manager and coaching staff work here, I can only improve as a player. This is a good place to be and I feel that I can really develop here.

"I want to repay the faith that has been shown in me by getting a regular starting place and helping the club push on.

"We have a good working environment here where everything is positive and everyone has the confidence to be the person they are and that is reflected in our displays on the pitch.

"We know what is expected of us and what we have to do this season; we are looking forward to the challenge that stands before us.

"We're a confident group without going over the top, so hopefully we can build on the things we did well last year and learn from our mistakes."
