WESTCARR DELIGHTED WITH BRACE

4 April 2013

Front-man playing his part...

FRONT-man, Craig Westcarr weighed in with a brace against Coventry City as The Saddlers made light of leading scorer, Will Grigg's absence by beating the Sky Blues by four goals to nil.

"It felt good to get the win and play my part with a couple of goals," he said. "We were unlucky not to win our previous two games, but it all came good on Monday as we extended our unbeaten run to 12 games.

"It's always nice to get on the scoresheet, but everyone played well from the 'keeper right through the team.

"Games like this in front of a big crowd and with a great atmosphere are always good and we're expecting more of the same against Sheffield United on Saturday.

"Hopefully our fans will turn up in good numbers again and really get behind us.

"The belief is there; we've always stuck to what we're doing and now we'll take each game as it comes between now and the end of the season and see where it takes us.

"At this stage of the season every game is tough be it against Sheffield United who are up there challenging for promotion or Scunthorpe, who we face the following week, who are battling for their lives near the bottom.

"If we can play to our ability then I would back us to beat anyone in this League.

"You can be sure that we'll be focussed and prepared to work hard in order to keep getting our rewards."
