Boss ready for last game of the season...OBVIOUSLY we were disappointed to see our hopes of making the play-offs end last weekend, but having sat back and reflected on things this week, it's been a decent season. To still be in with a shout of making the play-offs with just two games to go is a tremendous achievement for all involved.
To be where we are now after the poor run we had earlier in the season is great credit to the efforts of the players in the second half of the campaign. Some of the football we have played this season has been fantastic and now we want to end on a winning note.
There will be plenty of teams looking back right now and saying 'if', 'but' and 'maybe', but you are judged on where you finish after 46 games and we will be looking to finish as high as we can.
If we take care of what we do at Crewe on Saturday, we are guaranteed an eighth-place finish. There are still three points up for grabs on Saturday and we want to grab them to pass that 70-point mark.
I watched Crewe on Tuesday; it's a tight pitch there and both teams want to play the right way, It'll make for an interesting encounter; we'll have a good following and hopefully we'll give our fans a positive end to the season to extend our unbeaten run into the end of the season.
We're looking forward to the game and have prepared for it in the right way.
Thank you for your excellent support throughout the season...
