SMITH ON DRAW

13 April 2013

Boss reacts to the action...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith has reflected upon our 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe as our hosts pegged us back with a late equaliser.

"We just weren't at the races in the first half," he admitted. "Our tempo improved after the break and we were much better. We created some good chances but couldn't take them and it ended up costing us.

"Scunthorpe came out fighting at the start of the game and, credit to them, we weren't able to get into the tempo that we like to play.

"We didn't do well enough with or without the ball, but we improved in the second half and looked well in control of the game.

"It was disappointing that we could't hold onto our lead, but its another point towards our tally and we're still in the mix with two games to go.

"There are a lot of teams up there who feel that still have a chance, but we have the momentum and have worked extremely hard to get where we are.

"The lads were sat disappointed in the dressing room afterwards but we'll be ready to go again for the next one. The atmosphere amongst the lads is great and that will continue."
