HAVING returned to the starting line-up for Monday's 4-0 victory over Coventry City, talented Yorkshireman, James Baxendale will be hoping to keep his place for Saturday's visit of Sheffield United (kick-off 3.00pm).
The summer signing from Doncaster Rovers is a lifelong Sheffield Wednesday supporter, a fact which only adds further spice to the occasion. "It's a massive game and hopefully I can keep my place in the team," he said. "Every game is important at this stage of the season; it's a case of being at it and ready, which we certainly are.
"Everyone played their part in Monday's win. It was a great team performance and extended our unbeaten run.
"We all know what is expected of us and the job we have to do, so it's easy for players such as myself to step into the team when called upon.
"Obviously I was delighted to start the game and hopefully it will continue."
Meanwhile emerging goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone, is looking forward to the visit of The Blades.
The Manchester United stopper has kept clean sheets in each of his first three games for the club and has displayed a maturity beyond his years.
"It'll be a good game," he said. "It was nice to make my home debut in front of a big crowd in the last game and I would expect there to be another large and vocal crowd on Saturday.
"Hopefully we can get another win and I can keep another clean sheet.
"It's nice to keep clean sheets; the team has been solid and playing well as a unit which has really helped me.
"Having played at this level with Scunthorpe last season, I knew what to expect and I am enjoying it here. Everyone has made me feel welcome and the lads are doing the business on the pitch.
"It's been good for me to come here and play regular, competitive games in a team that is pushing for the play-offs."
