PATERSON A HAPPY MAN

27 April 2013

A season of progress for Patty...

WIDE-man, Jamie Paterson was disappointed to see what has been an excellent season both personally and for the club end in defeat at Crewe Alexandra.

"Of course, we wanted to end the season with a win," he said. "I felt that we didn't deserve to lose, but it's been a great season so we won't dwell on this too much.

"For me personally I have started every game and scored 13 goals. I could have had a few more, but I've been really pleased how things have gone and now the aim is to take it into next season.

"The important thing is that the squad stays together and pushes on as a group. The whole team can be pleased with what they have done this year and it gives us something positive to build upon.

"Finishing in the top ten will mean that the expectation levels will naturally rise and hopefully this time next year we'll be looking forward to the play-offs or even better.

"As players we've enjoyed the season; we've played with no pressure and had excellent backing from the fans, who've really got behind us throughout.

"There's a great team spirit here and it all bodes well for the future."
