TAYLOR PLAYING HIS PART

28 September 2012

Reliable full-back enjoying solid start...

ANDY Taylor has been a reliable figure in The Saddlers’ back-line since his arrival in August.

The former Sheffield United man has admitted to enjoying the ‘underdogs’ tag as Dean Smith’s side have made a solid start to the season.
“Earlier in the season we were almost written off and every game we’ve played we’ve been underdogs,” he said. “It’s nice to prove people wrong and let them think ‘hang on a minute, maybe they shouldn’t be written off.’

“We’ve got a good squad with good players here and we’ll cause a few surprises this season.

“And being noticed can only be a good thing. After a few good results people might sit back and think ‘they are playing some good football and getting good results’.

“I knew what the squad was about, what the club was about, before I came here. Last year was a struggle but I came in on trial and knew if we got things right and worked together, we could cause a few surprises and upset people, which we have done and long may it continue.”

If you are unable to make it along to Saturday's game at AFC Bournemouth, fear not as Saddlers Player will have live, full match commentary…
