THE SADDLERS’ second-string drew 1-1 away at Bury this afternoon in the opening fixture of the Central League season.
Aaron Williams scored The Saddlers' goal from the spot and assistant manager, Richard O'Kelly, was pleased with the team's performance.
"It was a decent performance," he said. "We started off very well and created a number of chances. They had a gale force wind and a slope on their side and grew into the game the longer it went on.
"We showed plenty of endeavour though and had the lion's share of possession in the second period.
"It was nice for Aaron to open his account from the spot."
