REMEMBERING MATT

7 September 2012

Saddlers welcome the Gadsby Family this weekend as we show our support for CRY...

THIS Sunday marks the sixth anniversary of the untimely death of former Saddler, Matt Gadsby whilst playing for Hinckley United at the age of just 27.

A product of the youth set-up here at Banks’s Stadium, he came through the ranks to make almost 50 senior appearances for the club, including a substitute appearance at the Millennium Stadium in our Play-Off Final victory over Reading in 2001.

Since his passing, Matt’s family have worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for the Cardiac Risk in the Young Charity and on Saturday we welcome his wife, Sarah, mum and dad, Jackie and Andy, sisters Rachel, Amy and Emily plus their partners, who will be here as guests of the club and Walsall Football Supporters Trust.

They will be doing a bucket collection on behalf of CRY before the game and at half-time, so please give generously for this worthwhile cause..

Matt Gadsby will never be forgotten here at Walsall FC.
