Grigg back to boost Saddlers...
FRONT-man, Will Grigg is back from International Duty and determined to get his starting place back as The Saddlers travel to Portsmouth this weekend.Grigg was an unused substitute for Northern Ireland in their World Cup Qualifying games against Russia and Luxembourg this week and despite not getting any minutes on the pitch, being part of an International set-up can only help in his overall development.
"I gain loads of experience from being with Northern Ireland," he said. "A lot of the lads are playing in the Premier League, so to work alongside them for a few days is really beneficial, also seeing different coaching methods and ideas can only help develop my understanding of the game.
"Now I'm back I just want to get out there and play again. It'll be a tough challenge on Saturday; I watched Portsmouth beat Crawley on television recently and they have some good players in their side, but we go there full of confidence, looking to play some decent stuff and building upon last weekend's great win.
"There's a busy schedule of matches ahead, but we're used to it now and the lads are just looking forward to each new game. The spirit here is fantastic and the main thing is that we're playing well and looking good going forward."
Grigg's last game for The Saddlers saw him partner George Bowerman, a strike pairing that first came together in the youth team. "It's great to play alongside George," added Grigg without hesitation. "We came through the ranks together and link-up well.
"He's progressed so much and both of us have different dimensions to our game which make it a good combination. Hopefully it will be able to develop and we can get the goals to keep the club up there in the right half of the table."
