PATERSON POSITIVE FOR POMPEY

14 September 2012

Wide-man relishing trip to Fratton Park...

JAMIE Paterson is looking forward to The Saddlers' visit to the south coast on Saturday as we lock horns with a Portsmouth outfit that has endured a turbulent summer.

“I watched them on the TV the other day and I was surprised with the players they had," he admitted. "But as we look at the League table and the form table, we’re higher than them.

"They’ll be showing us respect and we can go there are hopefully surprise them.

“I used to watch them when I was younger on Match of the Day and I already know what the stadium looks like without even being there.

“Portsmouth won the FA Cup a few years ago and they are not a small club and have got a good fan base that really gets behind the team. They’re a big club so any result there would be positive.

“There’s a good atmosphere around our place and we’re enjoying our football. We’ve been given that licence to do so it’s looking encouraging.

“It should be a good game and a good atmosphere. Hopefully we can go there and get a result."
