Wide-man on first goal of the season...
JAMIE Paterson weighed in with his first goal of the season against Brentford on Saturday to set The Saddlers on our way, but in the end we had to settle for a share of the spoils."Obviously we are all disappointed that we couldn't see the game out and hold on to the three points," he said. "But there were certainly plenty of positives to come out of it and it was nice to get off the mark with my first goal of the season.
"I was happy with the goal but the result put a dampener on things, to be honest. That said, it wasn't a loss and what it does do is extend our unbeaten League run. Had we been offered four points prior to our last two games then we would have probably taken them.
"From a personal point of view, I want to use this as a springboard to get more goals now and help us push-on up the table.
"We've got some good footballers in the side; we're keeping the ball and creating chances, which bodes well. We're not the tallest of teams but we have showed what we can do in terms of playing decent football."
