HEMMINGS LOVING LIFE

7 September 2012

Pacy wide-man in high spirits...

ASHLEY Hemmings couldn't be happier with life at The Saddlers.

The summer signing has settled in well both on and off-the-field since his switch from Wolves. "Coming here is the best decision I have ever made," he said without hesitation. "The lads are great and I really want to establish myself and do well for the club.

"We've had a decent start and it gives us something to build upon. The style that we play here really suits my game; everyone just wants to get the ball down and play and hopefully it will get the results that it deserves.

During his time at Molineux, Hemmings was sent out on loan to the likes of Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle. "To be around family and friends at a club close to home makes things so much better," he added. "The travelling was hard when I was at Torquay and Plymouth, but being here is ideal and allows me to fully concentrate on my football.

"If you're happy off-the-field, this will be reflected in your performances on it."

The pacy wide-man is looking forward to pitting his wits against MK Dons at the weekend. "I'm sure that MK Dons are going to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season," he said. "That said, I feel that we can surprise a few teams this season.

"We've got lots of hungry, young players here who want to learn and do well. There's a good mix of youth and experience and a great team spirit that will serve us well."
