FLO-ATING ON AIR

Cuvelier buzzing with fine form...

FLORENT Cuvelier returned to the club that gave him his chance in the English game and scored a goal to help The Saddlers bring home three points from our first trip to Portsmouth in a decade.

"I played at Portsmouth when I was a youngster and learned a lot at the club," he said. "It was nice to come back and see some familiar faces, but I was here in a different shirt and it was great to score for Walsall.

"It was an excellent victory for us. The team is looking confident and we are passing the ball well. There were a lot of new faces come in during the summer but we are gelling more and more with each new game.

"We made some great moves on Saturday and used the ball well in the right areas, so it is pleasing at the moment.

"As long as the team is playing well and winning, I don't mind what role I am asked to fill. We have pace up front and skill on the wings, so it is a pleasure to be part of the team.

"We now look forward to Tuesday's game at Stevenage. It will be another hard game as they are a strong and physical side, but we have the confidence and belief and it's a game we are looking forward to.

"Hopefully we can extend our unbeaten run and build on what has been an impressive start to the season. The Brentford game was a big lesson for us and since then we have picked up two great wins against strong sides."
