Bowerman amongst the goals...
GEORGE Bowerman made it five goals for the season with a brace against Preston North End at the weekend, including our first penalty of the campaign."It's always nice to score," said the emerging front-man. "The main thing was that the team got back into winning ways, but for me to score twice was an added bonus.
"I don't mind how the goals come, it's just nice to see the ball hit the back of the net.
"It's been a good start to the season both for the team and me personally. Hopefully it can continue and we will find ourselves challenging at the right end of the table.
"To have five goals - possibly six if you count the one at Notts County - at this stage is very pleasing. I know that I have to keep my feet on the ground and keep trying to improve all the time.
"The Gaffer has been with me since the youth team, so he knows what I am about. It's a pleasure to be playing in the team at the moment; everyone is putting in a shift and we want to work hard for each other.
"There is plenty of character in this team and it has shown in some of the results we have achieved so far against top teams. People are starting to sit up and take notice of us and what we are trying to do here and that is credit to everyone involved."
