DARTS STARS COMING TO WALSALL

3 September 2012

Mardle and co. can't wait for Banks's Stadium showdown later this month...

TOP Darts stars are bringing their hit show to Banks’s Stadium on Thursday, September 13th.

The Professional Darts Showdown features four of the game’s true entertainers who regularly pull in massive TV audiences for a sport which continues to hit new heights in terms of popularity.

Wayne Mardle, famous for his Hawaii shirt and spectacular walk-on, is joined by friend and rival Peter ‘One Dart’ Manley – and in-form duo Terry ‘The Bull’ Jenkins and Andy ‘The Pieman’ Smith are also in the line-up.

Mardle, who is also part of the Sky Sports commentary team, is relishing the prospect of an appearance at the Banks’s.

He said: “We’ve taken the show on tour and recently we went to Celtic Park and we’ve been to Munster Rugby Club too. The fans loved it. We’re going round the grounds and can’t wait to get to Walsall.

“We’re all great pals but when we get on that stage we like to beat each other. It should be a great night and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone there because we know what a hotbed the Black Country area is for Darts.”

Mardle has a reputation for putting on a show and mixing with fans.

“It’s just something I enjoy and the people at Walsall will see that,” he said. “Manley is like the pantomime villain I suppose and in Terry and Andy you have two top quality players who still have high hopes of moving up the world rankings.

“It has all the makings of a great night and I’m looking forward to putting on a show for the public.

“I love playing and I love doing my TV work, things are going really well for me right now.

“I’m a Tottenham Hotspur fan but one of my Sky colleagues knows Walsall well and speaks very highly of the way the club is run and the facilities there. I’m looking forward to it.”

Tickets are priced at £12 with premium tickets available for £15. They are available from the Banks's Stadium Ticket Office on 01922-651 414 / 416 or online by clicking here...
