WINNING START FOR DARLOW

2 October 2012

On-loan 'keeper gets into the winning habit...

ON-LOAN goalkeeper, Karl Darlow has made a winning start to his Saddlers' career, playing his part in victories in each of his opening two games for the club since arriving for an initial month from Nottingham Forest.

The 21 year-old has settled in well and is delighted that he decision to make the move to Banks's Stadium.

"I could have stayed at Forest and sat on the bench each week," he said. "But that would not be beneficial to me. I wanted to go out and play regularly at a decent level, and I am doing that here.

"There is a great spirit around the place and a never-say-die attitude. We're all young lads who are keen to keep going and learn from our mistakes.

"On Saturday at Bournemouth we controlled the game well and we were delighted with the result in the end. I was happy to do my job when called upon but the back four was solid and I wasn't needed that often.

"Hopefully we can make winning a habit and keep putting in the performances that will see us build upon the start we have made.

"The games are coming thick and fast and we are looking forward to being back at home tonight. We know we will have to be focussed, but our confidence and self-belief is high right now."
