Boss looking forward to Alex visit...
DESPITE recent results, the belief within the squad is still there for all to see. I work on logic and despite watching the Shrewsbury match again and continuing to wonder how we didn't get anything out of the game, there is nothing we can do about the result now and we must move on to the next challenge.Crewe are a club that have developed a reputation over the years for bringing through young players and having a certain style of play that is linked to them. Hopefully we can emulate this; we have a project here that is progressing well and the fans can see that we are heading in the right direction.
Our short-term aim is to win football matches, but long-term it is about playing a style of football and developing a group of players that have come through the system that our supporters can identify with.
It has all the ingredients to be an entertaining game on Saturday. The reaction and the response of the players has been fantastic and hopefully we will get the result that we all desire against Crewe.
We're certainly creating plenty of chances at the moment and, to be fair, we're not doing too much wrong. As I say, we have the belief and the determination to go out there and do a job.
Our opponents are sure to bring a good following, so we will need the kind of vocal backing that we received on Sunday. Our supporters got behind us from start to finish and they have a key role to play this weekend.
