SMITH REFLECTS

3 October 2012

Boss on home reverse...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was upbeat despite seeing his side fall to defeat at the hands of his former club.

"We were in control of the game for long periods," he said. "Had there been any justice, we would have take something out of this game.

"We should have had a penalty towards the end and also went close on a number of occasions to getting ourselves back on level terms.

"I'm proud of the players and what they are giving me at the moment; I can almost accept defeats when we play like that.

"Our visitors paid us a compliment by coming here and sitting behind the ball and soaking up the pressure. Teams know that we can trouble them with the players that we have got here.

"I was pleased with the response when we went two goals down and now we turn our attention to bouncing back in the right way on Saturday. After each of our defeats so far we have responded the right way in the next game and I expect the same against Carlisle this weekend."
