Paterson looking for the right response...

GOALSCORER, Jamie Paterson is determined to get back into winning ways as quickly as possible after seeing his opening goal wiped out at the weekend by two Carlisle strikes as we slipped to a second 2-1 home reverse in a row.

"I don't think we deserved to win on Saturday, but at the same time we didn't deserve to lose either," said Paterson, who weighed in with his second goal of the campaign so far by experting finishing a neat Walsall move. "It was a game that could have gone either way, but it was an unfortunate ending for us.

"We have to make sure that we keep our heads high and move on to the next game.

"It was good to be able to finish off a well-worked team goal; the way we pass and move the ball, I can see more of these type of goals coming our way.

"Obviously I was happy to score, but the final score took the gloss of it.

"The hope now is that we can bounce back in the right way both on Tuesday evening and then at Shrewsbury on Sunday. As a team we are always going to create chances with the way that we play, so hopefully we can make them count.

"We have already proved to be more than a match for anyone at this level. Yes, the last couple of results have been disappointing, but we've not deserved to lose either game and there are positive aspects to come out of both matches."
