GRIGG OFF THE MARK

3 October 2012

Front-man on the hunt for more goals...

FRONT-man. Will Grigg opened his goalscoring account for the season with a coolly taken penalty against Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening.

It was just reward for the Northern Ireland International who has worked hard this season.

"To be honest, as soon as I picked up the ball, I knew exactly where I was going to put it," he said. "I just wanted to get that first goal out of the way and now that I've got it, I am determined to get some more.

"We weren't quite at it in the first half on Tuesday, but we were well on top and on the front-foot after the break. We had the chances to get something from the game but in the end it wasn't to be.

"The fans were brilliant and stayed behind us throughout the game. They can see what we're trying to do here and their backing is so important to us.

"As a team we're determined to bounce back on Saturday as we have done after each defeat so far. We won't change how we play and we'll go into the game with belief and determination to get back into winning ways."

Grigg was on target in Carlisle United's last visit to Banks's Stadium 12 months ago, so he will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday as we play host to The Cumbrians.
