Midfield man on Shrews slip...

ADAM Chambers made a welcome return to The Saddlers' engine room for the first time since the end of August but finished up on the losing side in our televised clash with local rivals, Shrewsbury Town.

"We created some good chances and performance-wise we did well," he said. "I was disappointed with the chance that I missed in the first half. Fair play to the 'keeper because he did well, but I should have done better.

"The fact that their 'keeper was Man of the Match says it all really. We played some decent stuff throughout and showed those watching on television what we are capable of.

"It was a poor goal for us to concede but all we can do now is get ready to go again in our next game and make sure that we get back into winning ways.

"From a personal point of view, I was glad to be back; it would have been nice to have had a couple of reserve games to ease back into it, but I was desperate to play in this one and I felt that I came through it okay."
