WESTCARR HAPPY TO BE HERE

23 November 2012

New-boy excited by Walsall challenge...

CRAIG Westcarr arrived at the training ground on Friday morning to meet his new team-mates having joined the club on loan from Chesterfield, initially until January 5th.

"I'm very pleased to get this opportunity," said the 27 year-old. "Hopefully I will be able to repay the manager's faith in me by getting some goals and helping the team move up the table.

"I'm looking forward to playing League One football again and enjoying my football. It's a challenge that I am relishing; I want to get regular games under my belt and help the team get to where they want to be.

"I'll bring hard work and dedication to the team. There is a good quality group of players here and having spoken to the Gaffer, I feel that I will fit into it well.

"I played against Walsall last year and know that the Gaffer likes to play a passing style, so I'll be looking to contribute with goals and assists.

"I'm looking forward to Saturday's game. Although Hartlepool are bottom of the table, it will be a tough one, as all games are at this level. The lads will have confidence from our two draws at Crawley and Tranmere and it will be nice to play my part in a return to winning ways in front of our own supporters.

"Hopefully I can hit the ground running and make an instant impact here."

If you are unable to make it along to Saturday's game, fear not as Saddlers Player will have live, full match commentary...
