SMITH PLEASED WITH PERFORMANCE

17 November 2012

Boss on draw at Crawley...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was pleased with the performance of his team as we came away from high-flying Crawley Town with a 2-2 draw.

"The lads performed really well," he said. "I was disappointed that they were able to get back in it after we twice took the lead, but I was pleased with the reaction of my players today.

"We were on the front-foot for most of the second half and were the better side. I felt that Febian Brandy was a constant threat and deserved his goal.

"We'll certainly take plenty of positives out of the game; we deserved to take all three points, but the way in which the players responded to the run we're on was the most pleasing aspect. There were a lot of good performances out there with everyone putting in a shift.

"It was one of those games where it was not to be in terms of bringing home maximum points, but we'll take the confidence from that into Tuesday's trip to Tranmere, which we are already looking forward to.

"Today was a good battle between two good teams and it was nice to see the supporters behind us and appreciating the effort that the lads put in."
