RIGHT DIRECTION FOR HOLDEN

27 November 2012

Experienced defender in upbeat mood...

DESPITE our dominance, we had to settle for a share of the spoils against Hartlepool United on Saturday as Dean Holden's goal early in the second half gave us a 1-1 draw.

"It was one of those games," admitted the experienced central defender. "It's hard to take because the performance was really good.

"We wanted to build on our last two away performances with three points at home, but it wasn't to be.

"As a performance, it was solid. We restricted our opponents to very few chances, whilst we kept going, kept playing and created plenty of chances.

"As disappointed as we are, if we continue to play like that, we will be okay.

"We appear to have nipped the bad run in the bud because our last three displays have been much better. It's a case of continuing to build on it and start to move in the right direction.

"We've now got a couple of weeks where we can get on the training ground and really put some work in. It's been a busy schedule of matches, but now we have the chance to prepare ourselves for the slog over Christmas.

"I've got no doubt that we're on the right track."
