SO FAR, SO GOOD FOR SMITH

19 July 2012

Boss pleased with pre-season progress...

HAVING been back in training since the start of July, Saddlers' boss, Dean Smith is pleased with the progress being made.

"It's gone well so far," he said. "The training sessions have been extremely productive and groundsman, Paul Mason has done a fantastic job with the pitches at the Training Ground to ensure that, despite the weather, we've been able to use them every day.

"We've added a few players to the squad already and have a number of trialists with us who have impressed. There is certainly some good quality amongst them and it's going to be a tough job for myself and Richard O'Kelly to decide who to offer contracts to.

"It's a case of so far, so good and now I am looking forward to the matches getting underway."

A Saddlers XI will travel to local non-League outfit, Pelsall Villa on Monday evening with a 7.30pm kick-off at The Bush Ground before we take on AFC Telford United on Tuesday evening.
