Boss upbeat ahead of Kidderminster clash...
THE SADDLERS face their latest pre-season clash this evening when he head to Blue Square Premier outfit, Kidderminster Harriers.Manager, Dean Smith is pleased with the progress being made despite Saturday's 3-0 reverse at the hands of Wolves. "I was pleased with how we played during the first half on Saturday," he said. "The only disappointment was that they didn't have to do too much to get their goals.
"We controlled it in terms of possession and played some decent football at times, but we never managed to really get through them.
"All in all it was a great work-out for us; we're improving on the ball and generally moving in the right direction.
"I've been pleased with the application of the players. They are learning from the things we've done well and not so well and we're progressing in the right way.
"Things are coming together nicely. This time of the year is all about building up fitness and getting game time into the players and that will continue this evening as we head for Kidderminster.
"It will be another kind of challenge for us and another step towards where we want to be in a couple of weeks time."
