SADDLERS SIGN BRANDY

26 July 2012

Lively front-man checks in...

THE SADDLERS have completed the signing of lively front-man, Febian Brandy.

The 23 year-old joined Manchester United at the age of nine and progressed through the ranks to become a regular for the reserves.

He was allowed to join Swansea City on loan in January 2008 where he got his first taste of senior action and impressed sufficiently to return to the Welsh outfit on loan at the start of the following campaign.

His next port of call was Hereford United and then Gillingham, both on loan, before he was released from Old Trafford in the summer of 2010.

He eventually joined Notts County before heading for Greece with Panetolikos, from where he arrived at Banks’s Stadium on trial earlier this summer.

Brandy has represented England at various youth levels up to Under-20.

“Febian is a player that we have looked closely at over the past few weeks,” said manager, Dean Smith. “He has impressed us with his ability and attitude and we are delighted to be able to add him to the squad.

“He’s a lively player with good pace and undoubted talent who has unfulfilled potential, which we hope he will be able to fulfill here.

“He will certainly offer us a different dimension and is a welcome addition.”
