SADDLERS RETURN TO HOME SOIL

27 July 2012

First home pre-season friendly sees Wolves come to town...

THE SADDLERS return to home soil on Saturday as we take on Wolves (kick-off 3.00pm).

Manager, Dean Smith will field summer signings Ashley Hemmings, Dean Holden and Febian Brandy, whilst Flo Cuvelier makes a welcome return to the club after returning on loan from Stoke City.

Hemmings will find himself up against the club that he left during the summer having come up through the youth ranks. "Obviously I am really looking forward to the game," he said. "There are a lot of people at Wolves who I have to thank for making me the player I am today, but I always want to push myself and get involved in the first-team and the time was right to move on in order to kick-start my career.

"I'm ready to kick-on and show Walsall what I can do."

There will also be an opportunity for a number of trialists and younger members of the squad to show what they are capable of ahead of the new season.

Wolves arrive here under the guidance of Stale Solbakken, who is relishing his first taste of management in the English game. He will be looking to oversee an immediate return to the top-flight.

We will be launching our brand new third kit on Saturday as well as welcoming former players, Brian Caswell and Paul Jones to the game as guests of the club and Walsall Football Supporters Trust.

It promises to be an exciting occasion... don't miss it!
