Launch pad for Grigg...

HAVING scored the winner at MK Dons at the end of last season, Will Grigg was at it again on Boxing Day as he scored two goals in a game for the first time in his senior career to help us overcome The Dons by four goals to two.

"The were brilliant," he said. "We started off a bit shaky, but we got a few things sorted and got into it as the game went on and in the end we did really well.

"MK Dons are a good side and to do the double over them this season is fantastic.

"I scored there last season and now I've got two in a game for the first time, so it's certainly been a happy hunting ground for me. Hopefully I can now use this as a launch pad to get more goals in the games ahead.

"We've got a good front four at the moment with everyone playing well and with confidence. There are plenty of threats amongst us and we are enjoying our football.

"I've had to adapt my role to suit the style we are playing this season, but I feel that I can do a good job for the team. I've got seven goals now and will be looking to add to that in the three games that are coming up this week.

"Confidence is important in any team and we are delighted that we've finally managed to get back into winning ways and now we want to really push on.

"There are still lots of points up for grabs and hopefully we can keep climbing the table and get the points in the bag that make it a true reflection of where we deserve to be."

The next challenge for Grigg and The Saddlers is Saturday's trip to the Capital to face Leyton Orient.

"It will be a difficult game, but they all are in this League," added the Northern Ireland International. "Everyone is still sore about our home defeat at the hands of Leyton Orient earlier this season and we want to do something about it.

"I'm expecting a good battle; they work hard and will be up for it. They've had their last two games called off, so they will be keen to get back into action, whilst we'll have the confidence of six points from these past two games.

"In this League everyone is capable of beating each other. We've just got to do our best and give our all then see where it takes us."
