McCAREY LOAN EXTENDED

15 December 2012

New deal for on-loan Wolves youngster...

-
THE SADDLERS have extended the loan of emerging goalkeeper, Aaron McCarey, from Wolves until January 13th 2013.

The 20 year-old has displayed a maturity beyond his years with some assured displays over the past five games.

“I am really pleased with the progress that Aaron has made during his time here,” said manager, Dean Smith. “He arrived at a tough time but has taken his chance well.

“He’s a good character and a strong personality; he is improving all of the time and will only get better, so I am delighted that we have been able to extend his deal.”

This has been McCarey’s first taste of League action. The former Republic of Ireland Under-19 International was snapped up by Wolves from Monaghan United in his homeland in 2010 and his development at Molineux has included a loan spell at AFC Telford United.

“I’m happy to extend my stay here,” added McCarey. “I’m really enjoying it at the club and everyone, management, players and supporters, have been brilliant with me.

“It’s been a massive learning curve for me and I’m looking forward to that continuing.

“I came here looking to play regular, competitive football and this has certainly whetted my appetite.”
