GRIGG LOOKING TO ADD TO GOALS TALLY

21 December 2012

Front-man on the hunt for more goals this weekend...

SADDLERS’ striker, Will Grigg, has urged his team-mates to stay positive ahead of the clash with Colchester United on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

Despite being on level points, The U’s sit one place above us on goal difference and Grigg knows it will be a tight encounter against Joe Dunne’s side, but one he is relishing to be a part of.

“Colchester are going to be a tough side to play against,” said the 21-year old. “It couldn’t be more even really, so that’s something we can take to our advantage knowing we can go above them in the League with the right result.

“I'm enjoying being in the team and back amongst the goals, so I'm looking forward to every game and this one is no exception.

“Everyone is ready for the busy period over Christmas and we need to keep our heads up starting on Saturday where we will be looking to get the three points.”

The Northern Ireland International was back on the scoresheet in last weekend’s draw with Yeovil Town, which has now seen The Saddlers lose just once in five games and Grigg is confident it will not be long before the club returns to winning ways.

“We were disappointed last weekend that we couldn't hold on, when we should have seen the game out,” he admitted. “It’s one of those things; we’ve spoken about it in-house and perhaps individual errors or even a bit of luck has gone against us.

“We need to keep working hard; the way we've set out this season is positive and at times we’re playing well, we need to turn those performances into wins, which we can see coming sooner rather than later.”
