FLO GLAD TO BE BACK

24 December 2012

Loan ace in upbeat mood...

FLORENT Cuvelier made a welcome return to action during our victory over Colchester United. It was the on-loan midfielder's first outing since the end of October due to a niggling hamstring problem.

"It was a great feeling to be back on the pitch," he said. "The fact that we also won the game made it extra special.

"The run has dragged us down a bit, but it was a great performance against Colchester and a deserved win.

"It's a feeling of relief and happiness all rolled into one. We face an important period now with lots of games where we will be trying to get as many points as possible.

"Our focus is on MK Dons now and hopefully I will have a part to play in the game."

The Belgian ace has had a frustrating couple of months. "Unfortunately it is part of football," he reasoned. "I've been so desperate to get back but I also had to make sure that I was right.

"Now I am happy that I am back and I look forward to playing regularly now and helping the club kick on.

"I tried to do a job outside the football pitch when I was injured by encouraging the lads. They have worked very hard but not had the results to go alongside their efforts. Hopefully that can change now.

"All I can do is continue to work hard and play my part. I have certainly become a better player since I came here and have a lot to be thankful to the club for."

Cuvelier will be pushing for a starting place as we head for MK Dons on Boxing Day.
