Smith a happy man...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith was delighted to see us finally make a return to winning ways as we stretched our recent run to just one defeat in the last six games with a 1-0 triumph over Colchester United.

"I'm really pleased that we were able to get the three points," he said. "We deserved to win; there were a few hairy moments towards the end, but, on the whole, it was a deserved victory.

"We restricted them to only a few chances and that is credit to our organisation and discipline. One defeat in the last six games gives us heart to take into the busy Christmas period and now we have to make sure that we can build on it and take the confidence that comes with winning football matches.

"It's been a long time since that last win, but there have been some good performances along the way.

"To be able to bring Flo Cuvelier on for a 15-minute cameo appearance was also a boost for the player and the club. It's been a frustrating time for him, but hopefully we can get him back firing on all cylinders now."
