Boss on first away assignment

THERE is no doubt that it will be another tough game for us as we face our first away game.

I went along to watch them against Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup last week and they did well during the first half and deservedly found themselves two goals to the good. Wednesday changed things around after the break and ended up winning the tie, but there was enough to suggest that Oldham will be a well-organised side at this level.

We also had them watched at the weekend and have been working hard since the weekend in preparation.

It's a case of us picking ourselves up and dusting ourselves down from Saturday's defeat at the hands of Doncaster. There were positives to come out of the game and aspects that we will learn from.

This is a competitive League and the games come thick and fast straight away. We need to be up for the scrap and be prepared to fight for every single point.

The most important thing is that we are ready to go again; the players are determined to get out there and achieve our first points of the season.

This is the first of two away games this week, but we'll be taking each game as it comes and look to do the best we can in order to give us every chance of securing the points on offer.

I would like to thank those supporters who will be making the trip to Boundary Park and urge you to get behind us right from the very first whistle.
