Smith happy to be back at home...
WE GO into the game on the back of three away games on the spin, during which time we have picked up four points and put in some really positive performances, which we can take a lot from. The defeat at QPR on Tuesday evening was disappointing as I felt we played better than the final scoreline suggested. Our approach and attitude was good and we created a number of chances against what was extremely strong opposition.
Looking ahead to Saturday's game, obviously we have already beaten Brentford this season, but they had a good win last weekend and have strengthened their squad since then.
As such it will be a different game but we go into it with the confidence gained from our recent displays.
It's been a busy time as we have been working hard to strengthen the squad. There have been a few knock-backs along the way, but when the loan window re-opens in a week is likely to be when we do some business.
We are looking forward to getting back onto home soil and put right the Doncaster result. For an hour in that game it was some of the best football we have played so far this season, so hopefully we can match our performance up with three points on Saturday.
In order to achieve this we will need to be at our best, but we go out there determined to put on a performance for our supporters.
I must say that the backing we have received in our last three games has been fantastic. Our travelling contingent never stopped singing at Loftus Road and I feel that people can see what we are trying to do and getting behind us.
This kind of support can really help us get to where we want to be.
