Boss gives his view on the action...
SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith has reflected upon our 3-0 opening day reverse at the hands of Doncaster Rovers."I felt that we played some fantastic stuff in the first half, but sadly we didn't get on the scoresheet and football's all about goals," he said. "Their second goal changed the game, to be fair, because just before it we were starting to get a hold of the game.
"It was always going to be tough today. I was pleased with our response to their opening goal; we didn't feel sorry for ourselves and reacted well but, as I say, they got a two-goal cushion with a fantastic strike.
"We won't get too down-heartened. Yes, it was disappointing not to get something out of it, but the key is how we react to this.
"It's all about finding a level of consistency and we will pick ourselves up and be ready to go again at Oldham on Tuesday.
"The fans stayed with us today and we appreciate that backing. We'll keep playing the way we want to play and hopefully it will start bringing us results as we are still very much a work in progress at the moment."
