Jones and Brandy on the mark...
THE SADDLERS tasted pre-season friendly victory for the second time in as many days with a 2-1 win at Redditch United.Manager, Dean Smith was able to field Febian Brandy, George Bowerman and Richard Taundry following their recent injury set-backs in what was a useful run-out.
"It was good to be able to put the lads that didn't play on Tuesday into the squad," said Smith. "A number of them got 90 minutes under their belts and it was good to see Febian Brandy, George Bowerman and Richard Taundry get quality game time following recent niggles.
"We played well in the first half and took an early lead through Jake Jones before Febian Brandy doubled our advantage.
"Our hosts came into it a bit more after the break and managed to pull a goal back, but in the end I was pleased with our performance and, once again, it proved to be a worthwhile exercise for us."
