HEMMINGS EYES SCORING REPEAT

17 August 2012

Pacy wide-man ready for Rovers...

PACY wide-man, Ashley Hemmings is looking to repeat his exploits of last weekend when Doncaster Rovers visit on the opening day of the 2012/13 season on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

The summer signing from Wolves marked his competitive debut with the winning goal against Brentford to set up a Capital One Cup second round clash at Premier League, Queens Park Rangers later this month.

"Opening my scoring account in my first game has given me added confidence," he said. "It's going to be a good game on Saturday. Doncaster came down at the end of last season and should be up there challenging for an immediate return.

"With the players and management we have here, we've got to fancy our chances against anyone in this League and we'll be looking to start as we mean to go on at the weekend.

"We've got some good young players who have come through the ranks here and the new lads have all settled in well amongst them. The experienced lads have been a big help as well and when they talk, we all listen and take it in.

"I'm glad to have them around, but I also like to put my point across and we are able to do that here as everyone is prepared to learn off each other."

If you are unable to make it along to Saturday's game, fear not as live, full match commentary will be broadcast on Saddlers Player.

The new-look Matchday Programme will also be unveiled. It is 68 pages packed full of news and information on the club, available from the usual outlets at £3 per copy.
