Smith gives his verdict...
SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith has reflected upon our 1-1 draw at Oldham as we secured our first point of the season thanks to George Bowerman's second half strike."I felt that for the first 15/20 minutes of the game we were on the front-foot and moved the ball quickly," he said. "We allowed them to get on it as the half went on and found ourselves a goal down at the break.
"We spoke about a few things at half-time and the lads responded to earn a share of the spoils.
"In fairness, both goals came as a result of mistakes; George was bright and alert to the back-pass to get his goal and I am pleased that we were able to get off the mark.
"It was pleasing to see us finish strongly against hard-working opposition. Aaron Williams came on for his senior debut and alongside George made an impact, which is exactly what we were looking for when I brought them on.
"Yes, we were disappointed with the goal that we conceded, but mistakes happen and it's how you react to them. Tonight I felt that we reacted well and didn't let our heads drop.
"We know what we're about and now we move on to Saturday."
