BAXENDALE LOVING LIFE

17 August 2012

New boy excited for the season ahead...

DONCASTER lad, James Baxendale is enjoying life with The Saddlers following his summer move from the Keepmoat Stadium, but the 19 year-old realises that he may have to bide his time before establishing a regular place in the side.

"It's a team game and everyone here has a role to play within the team," he said. "The main thing is that we are picking up points and if I can break into the team and help us achieve that, then I will be delighted.

"Obviously I want to establish myself here, but I know that I have to earn the right to be able to do that.

"The style of play here suits me down to the ground; it gives us all the chance to be the best we can. Everything is done properly and I am really enjoying it here.

"The opportunity to be able to go out and express yourself is a massive thing for me. It's the chance to show what you can do and I am looking forward to getting that chance.

"If it comes on Saturday against Doncaster, then great. I'm from the area and obviously was at the club last season. I want them to do well, but not in the two games against Walsall this season!

"The spirit amongst the lads is excellent; everyone bounces off each other and I feel that it is an exciting time for the club. We are all positive for the new season and can't wait for the action to get underway."

If you are unable to make it along to the game on Saturday, fear not as Saddlers Player will have live, full match commentary. Also, don't forget that the new-look Matchday Programme will be on sale from the usual outlets at just £3... make sure you pick up your copy!
