rmONCE more my players displayed plenty of resilience, character and spirit to come home from Bury with three hard-earned points on Tuesday evening.

In tough conditions and against youthful and energetic opposition, we battled well and fully deserved our victory in the end. To be fair, both teams did well and if we are going to get promotion this season, it is nights like that where you really earn it by getting the right result.

The performance augurs well for the future and we have a great game in store on Saturday. Obviously Swindon Town will be well up for it like ourselves and I hope that we get a big crowd and a big atmosphere inside the stadium.

That said, we have watched Swindon on a number of occasions and they are a good side with some extremely talented players. They also have an experienced manager at the helm in Paul Sturrock and I fully expect them to be there or thereabouts in the promotion race come the end of the season.

I feel that there is a real bond developing between our supporters and the players. Once again we were given superb backing at Gigg Lane and the fans can see that this group of players is doing all that they can to get us back into League One at the first attempt.

I am lucky to have such a strong and talented group at my disposal and Tuesday evening proved that we have plenty of options within the squad. I am comfortable that whatever 11 I put out, they will do all that they can to get the right result for this football club.

The recent signing of Swedish striker, Par Cederqvist also adds to our strength. He is a player that I know all about from my time in Sweden.

He is a big lad with tremendous pace and a real eye for goal; I am delighted that we managed to get him and the fact that he has a month to acclimatise and get to know his new surroundings will work in our favour.

Thanks for your support over the first half of the season. You have played an important role in the progress that we have made so far.
