CHRIS HUTCHINGS v WYCOMBE WANDERERS, 31/10/2009

Posted on: Fri 30 Oct 2009

I WAS pleased with the team at Colchester last weekend. We passed and controlled the ball well, particularly in the first half, but, obviously, it was very disappointing to come away with no points reward to show for our efforts.

We got plenty of balls into the box, but there are fine margins between success and failure and we have to make sure that we stay solid at the back and take our chances.

We travel to take on a Wycombe Wanderers side who recently installed Gary Waddock at the helm. Gary did a great job at Aldershot and this is an opportunity for him to further progress his career.

He has certainly got an initial  reaction out of his players in his first two games, making them difficult to break down and securing two draws.

The players have a point to prove to the new manager, so it is important that we go there 100% focussed. We know it will be tough, but hopefully we will get that slice of luck and put in a performance that will bring its reward.

Both teams will want to win the game, so it promises to be a competitive and hard-fought encounter.
